Description
Surrounded by vineyards and loess terraces, the stage leads from the wine town of Rohrendorf back to the lively historical Krems – including spectacular views. The starting point of the route already exudes regional charm. The Austria-wide known Rohrendorfer Kellergasse and the Lenz Moser winery invite you to linger and enjoy here. Through wonderful vineyards, the route continues toward the destination, past regional sites such as Rohrendorfer Gebling or Sandgrube. Accompanied by a stunning view over the idyllic Danube valley, the city of Krems is soon reached. There, numerous Heurigers and vintners provide for your culinary well-being. For all explorers, there are also excursion destinations such as the Kremser art mile with the spectacular Lower Austria State Gallery.

Route description Kremstal-Donau long-distance trail 07: Rohrendorf - Krems (shortcut)
From the Rohrendorf center, we continue hiking through the well-known vineyards Gebling, Thallern, and Sandgrube. After passing under the B37, we march behind the cemetery, over Singleithenstraße, continue on Wiener Straße, and via Untere Landstraße into the center of Krems. Our stage destination is the Hoher Markt with its Hercules Fountain.

Coming from Vienna: S5 – Jettsdorf interchange – direction Krems – exit Rohrendorf – turn right onto L7013 – after about 1 km onto LH45 – turn right onto Bahnstraße – turn right onto B35 – turn left onto Lindobelgasse
Coming from Krems: about 4 km along B35 – turn left onto Lindobelgasse
