Route description Long-distance hiking trail Kremstal-Danube 05: Hollenburg - Gedersdorf
From the main square in Hollenburg, we continue our hike on Sportplatzweg, passing under the underpass towards the Danube cycle path. We walk approximately 2.5 km downstream along this path to the St. Georgs Bridge. Caution: this section has many cyclists! Alternatively, we could use the parallel gravel path next to the floodplain.
We cross the bridge to reach the north side of the Danube. Once across, we walk about 2.4 km upstream along the cycle path before turning right through the floodplain to reach the village of Theiß. We follow Untere Hauptstraße to Stratzdorfer Straße, then head north on this street and afterwards turn right onto Güterweg. We march through fields and orchards, pass under the underpass by the gravel pits until we reach Brunn im Felde and shortly after Gedersdorf, where numerous Heuriger invite you to visit. The stage ends at the Gedersdorf chapel.
