Quiet forests and idyllic landscapes characterize the stage Droß – Senftenberg. Especially nature lovers seeking peace can wonderfully unwind here and enjoy the scenery.
Description
The stage from Droß to Senftenberg leads through breathtaking landscapes. Hiking through picturesque forest and meadow sections, you experience a uniquely "grounding" time-out. A first stop at the starting point of the tour is well worthwhile. The Fatima pilgrimage church, Droß Castle and St. George's Castle Chapel tower up there and invite you to explore. The route then continues through peaceful countryside to Poberkreuz, where the Krems Valley ("Kremstal" in German) long-distance hiking trail can be shortened in the direction of Senftenberg. Once you arrive at your destination, it is also worth taking a trip to the fortified church of St. Andreas or the ruins of Senftenberg Castle. From there, you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the surrounding wine terraces. This is a relaxing way to end the nature-filled hike with a view of the countryside.

Author's tip
High above the village, the Senftenberg Castle Ruins tower in the Kremstal valley. It is the emblem of the idyllic wine village of the same name and offers a magnificent view of the vineyard terraces where the typical Urgesteinsriesling grows. There is much to explore at the castle ruins, and many stories surround the centuries-old structure.
